In 2011, teenagers Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood formed their band at Northwest Christian College in Sydney, shortly after which drummer Ashton Irwin joined them. They reached their first million-strong audience with YouTube uploads of cover songs. Their debut album, ‘5 Seconds of Summer’, immediately reached number one in their native Australia and on the US Billboard charts, while the single ‘She Looks So Perfect’ topped the charts in the UK. ‘Youngblood’ and “Teeth” were further mega hits. With the release of their sixth studio album, ‘Everyone's a Star!’, in November 2025, the band is now opening a new chapter in their musical career. The quartet gave a first taste of their sound, inspired by artists such as The Prodigy and Gorillaz, in September during a surprise performance in West Hollywood, where they presented their new songs ‘Not OK’, “Boyband”, ‘Telephone Busy’ and ‘No. 1 Obsession’ live for the first time to an enthusiastic audience.
The 5SOS fan community in Munich can now also look forward to a rousing show. As part of the ‘Everyone's a Star!’ world tour, the old college mates are coming to the Olympic Hall.
